Buy Not Apple and Save

One of the downsides of buying a new iPad (iPad With Retina Display) is the need to pod out for a whole new set of accessories with the Lightning connector. Now, I like the Lighting connector for its speed and the rather handy ability to put the plug in either way up which makes life perceptibly easier, but the cost of Apple accessories is fierce.
So I was particularly chuffed with this USB/SD/microSD adaptor. To get this range with Apple kit, you would have to buy the Lightning to USB cable, the Lightning to SD card cable and a microSD/SD sleeve adaptor.
I suppose I could have bought a Lightning to 30 pin adaptor and make Christmas trees with my old camera card kit but that is just too klutzy for words.
At the checkout, the two Apple adaptors come to an unacceptable 50 sovs.
The gizmo in the picture (off Amazon, natch) cost a smidge under £7 including postage. Admittedly, the design and build quality fall well short of Jonny Ive's legendary standards but it works and it is a lot neater than Apple's official gear with its cables linking the plug to the socket. And it JUST WORKS, to quote some business tycoon or other.
