Crab Apple

When I got my iPad, I started looking for a simple word processor that would allow me to write stuff on the train, email it off to the editor when back in wireless coverage and sync it back to my PC.
It would have three basic functions:
1) Enter words,
2) Count them, and
3) Email them.
Everything else was superfluous.
Eventually I came across a neat little app called Elements, by Second Gear. It is a nice, clean word processor integrated into Dropbox, so swapping files from PC to tablet should be quick'n'easy. I thought.
In fact, there was a niggle that developed into an infuriating hassle. Elements only takes files in .txt format so all files had to be converted into .doc before emailing to technophobic editors who don't understand how to open anything else, poor loves.
I emailed Second Gear and suggested that Elements was so good they should do a version for PC, and then people would be able to use the same word processor on their desktop, tablet and smartphone and that might be really popular.
I got a snitty note back saying the he didn't do Windows so tough.
Now, however, the final end has come.
Second Gear has issued a new version and it's iOS6 only. And, furthermore, Elements 1 will no longer work on Dropbox next month.
I wrote to ask if it is really true and got this reply:
Hi Chris,

Thank you for contacting us. We do understand your concern and tried to take all our users into consideration.. However the vast majority of our users are already upgraded to iOS 6, and we want to take advantage of the new technologies to better support them. Please let us know if you have any further questions.Sincerely,Jason W.
What this really means is:
"If you were a true believer you would be running iOS 6 already. You are a bad person and I hate you. May the curse of Steve be upon you."
This is so totally typical of the arrogance of Apple diehards. I am sticking to Android in future.
